As many know by now, I’m a major grill enthusiast, and as a result, I’ve used a lot of grills in my 46 years. Over time, I’ve learned that there are some great grills and there are some mediocre ones, but sometimes, a grill may surprise you. In my recent experience, I’ve come across a couple of grills from Huntington, and I have to say, I’m impressed. In this guide, I’m going to do a few Huntington gas grill reviews so that you can have an idea about the quality of this brand.
In this article, we’re going to review to following gas grills:
Things to Consider Before Buying a Propane Grill
It’s important to note that Huntington is a lesser-known brand of grill, and it has more than its share of budget-friendly models to pick from. Some models include the Rebel, the Cast, and the Patriot – all of which have garnered extensive reputations. Still, when on the market for a grill, it’s a good idea to know what to look for, especially if you’re on a budget.
One of the first things that you should consider is the cooking profile. With gas grills, you’ll often find people talking about direct and indirect heat, and this is actually a relatively important aspect of this kind of grilling. Gas grills have burners that direct the heat upward, so they are great for leaving a nice sear on your meats and veggies, and this is considered direct heat.
On the other hand, you can also attain indirect heat by cooking your foods a burner or two away from the actual burner, which is called indirect heat. Indirect heat is great for roasting and creating a baking-like convection experience. With the grills that I’ll be reviewing, you should be able to easily achieve both types of cooking techniques.
Another thing to consider before a purchase is the mobility of the gas grill. Most of these products are wheeled, and having this is particularly convenient, especially when you’re moving the grill around the yard. These grills also utilize liquid propane tanks, which are also fairly portable as well. In many cases, this comes to the cart design, but I find that two wheels may provide some extra maneuverability, but four-wheeled grills tend to be better on different terrains.
Huntington Gas Grill Reviews: Presenting the Products
Rather than cover just a single grill, I figured that Huntington has two grills that really stand out for me. These are:
As you can see, these are very competitively priced and have a similar shaping to each other. Huntington has something of a simple aesthetic, so don’t expect a lot of design bells and whistles. Still, both of these grills definitely have the right amount of grate space and secondary features that will make them reasonably valuable despite their plain design.
Both of the grills are constructed of die-cast aluminum, which makes them pretty lightweight and has a good level of heat retention. The design of these carts is also relatively simple; the grills both have a two-wheel profile with stable legs at the front. Before I get into the deeper features of each, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of the Huntington Grill line:
- The company uses porcelain enameling on the grates, which makes heat distribution nice and even.
- They both have side shelves for food preparation. The 30040HNT has a side burner for additional food prep options.
- The knobs are very sturdy and give a good range of heating options.
- The rear wheels are large enough to tackle most terrains.
- They didn’t skimp on grill space; the 24025 has 240 square inches of grate area, and the 30030HNT/30040HNT has 430.
- The aluminum makes these feel flimsy.
- The wheels wobble.
- These don’t have thermometers.
Features and Benefits
Product One: Huntington 24025 Liquid Propane Gas Grill
The first Huntington product that I’m going to be covering is a two-burner grill that is fairly compact. For me, one of the standout features of this Huntington grill is its convection-friendly cookbox; it has plenty of room to heat your food indirectly, and the cast aluminum material is excellent for this as well. In fact, this material used to be the norm for grills, so this grills kind of has a nostalgic feel to it. Here are a few of its other features and benefits:
While larger grills can definitely have five burners or more, a compact grill like this can definitely do the job, especially when you take into account its 25,000-BTU output. Some companies overplay their BTU’s by including the BTU’s of side burners. This product doesn’t have these extra features, so you can rest assured that each burner side will be able to output 12,500-BTU’s over the 240 square inch cooking space. Also, since these burners are positioned underneath porcelain-enameled grates, there will be even heating and easy cleanup with this grill.
Ergonomic and Strong Handle
The handle on the 24025 is also very well-crafted. It has groves in its design that make it easy to grip when you’re opening and closing it. The handle is also placed reasonably far out from the lid, so you won’t feel too much ambient heat. This handle is also heat-resistant.
While the base of the cart has an area for a propane canister, it also has plenty of space for the storage of various items like utensils and grill accessories. This is pretty useful because closed carts have a limited amount of space. In addition, you’ll also notice the fact that the grill also has storage hooks, which are perfect for the placement of barbecue brushes and tongs.
In addition to the relative sturdiness of the product, it’s also treated to withstand extremes of weather. This is due to the fact that the die-cast aluminum has a black powder coat, which is used to prevent moisture from reaching the metal.

Product Two: Huntington 30040HNT/30030HNT
The other Huntington product that I’m going to review is another grill with a cast iron burner. This Huntington grill has a very similar shaping to the previous one; it even has the two-wheel design that provides a decent level of stability. Here are a few features that make it stand out:
Extensive Grill Space
In total, this grill has about 430 square inches of grill area. While admittedly this includes both the warming rack and the primary grilling area, it’s still a fairly impressive amount of grill space for such a compact grill. The grate is even made of cast iron. While this can be a material that’s not very weatherproof, Huntington coated theirs in porcelain, which increases its viability.
Good Power and Versatility
The burner used in this type of grill is a dual-function cast iron burner that’s controllable via the control knobs in the front of the unit. In total, this grill will put out 30,000 BTU’s, which amounts to 15,000 BTU’s per burner side. This is a reasonably powerful output, mainly since it’ll be directed onto 300 square inches of grill space. Also, for those that need to do more than grill, rotisserie, roast, or bake, the product also has a side burner. These are great for boiling some eggs, sautéing some veggies, or even stir-frying some rice.
While Weber does have the patent on the vaporizer, several other brands have similar technology, and this grill is one of them. The aluminum cooking system is designed to catch drippings from your meat, and when they hit the hot aluminum surface, they are instantly turned into vapor. This vapor then flows upwards and infuses the meat with extra flavor. This is one way that you can get that smoky flavor that people crave when grilling out.
When it comes to ignition systems, I’ll be honest: I love piezo ignitions. Piezoelectric systems use quartz to create a spark, and when you use them, you get an audible, “click.” These are very reliable ignition systems that seem to always work, and you don’t have to buy batteries for them at all. Of course, some grills have electronic systems that are very reliable, but for me, having a piezo starter is definitely a benefit.

What Are Customers Saying About Huntington Grills?
Despite being a lesser-known brand than your Webers or Char-Broils, these Huntington grills definitely have their share of fans. For example, in multiple Huntington gas grill reviews, many people feel that these are great grills for small families and couples. Also, the fact that they don’t break the bank is considered to be a significant benefit. Most also agree that these heat up well and maintain an even level of heating across the grill surface. This is also a grill brand for the classic grill enthusiast; people miss the old school days of grilling, and the cast aluminum construction of these reminds them of those times.
As you might expect, this isn’t the only great grill on the block. Here are a few others to consider:
Alternative One: Royal Gourmet GG2102 Cabinet Liquid Propane Gas Grill (2-Burner)
This grill, which is manufactured by Royal Gourmet, is designed with a cool aesthetic that comes in both red and black color options. This is a two-burner grill that uses liquid propane as a heat source. In total, the burners put out 12,000 BTU’s a piece, and deliver a combined 24,000-BTU output, which is adjustable via the two large knobs in front.
- The two tube burners have their ports on the side, which is very good for creating an even level of heat. As a result, you may have a more balanced heating profile than our Huntington products.
- Overall, there’s less BTU’s on this product than the Huntington products I reviewed.
- This packs in a fairly reliable electronic ignition system.
When it comes to the physical design, the Royal Gourmet GG2102 may edge out the more classic-looking Huntington products. That being said, they all have a similar enough heating profile to make this an excellent alternative grill.

Alternative Two: MASTER COOK Classic Liquid Propane Gas Grill (3-Burner)
I love how budget-friendly this grill is, and it has an aesthetic that bears similarities to the Huntington grills that I have reviewed. Like those grills, this is a two-wheeled product. This differs because it has three burners and 30,000 BTU’s of heat output. In total, the grill also has 473 square inches of cooking area, and the grates are even porcelain-enameled.
- This packs in a piezo ignition.
- The side tables fold down, so this is a great option for compactness.
- While it’s a bit harder to assemble than the Huntington models, this is a very sturdy grill.
Overall, this is definitely a great grill for the value. It’s also a better option for those that have minimal storage space.

Alternative Three: Char-Broil Classic 360 Liquid Propane Gas Grill (3-Burner)
As I mentioned, the Huntington grills have a lot of value for those looking for that classic grill experience, and in that same vein, you’ll find this Char-Broil grill. It’s part of their “Classic” line of grills, and it has a very similar design to the grills that the company put out in the 70s and 80s. It has 360 square inches of space, and the grates are porcelain-coated.
- I like the swing-away rack for warming buns.
- The handle is very similar to the Huntington handles.
- This is a model that includes a piezo ignition.
Char-Broil is one of those brands that you can rely on, and if you want to take a stroll down memory lane, this is a great option for grill enthusiasts that would love a classic experience. I particularly like the stainless steel burners on this model.

For many grillers, the high costs of premium monster grills can be a bit too much, but a classic-styled Huntington grill provides a nice alternative. Each of the grills that the company puts out has a good performance level and a relatively good build quality. It’s also an excellent option for those that want a top-notch grill surface that provides a good amount of space and even heating. Click here if you want to give the product a try.
