Last update:
Creamy Balsamic Steak Salad

Lunch doesn’t always have to mean cold sandwiches, sad salads, or eating fast food.

With just a little prep work and planning, you can enjoy top-quality steak meals mid-day. Yup—even when you’re at work.

In this post, I’ll share the best steak lunch ideas I found online!

1. Creamy Balsamic Steak Salad

An easy way to upgrade your classic salad for lunch is to transform it into a creamy, balsamic steak salad.

This lunch recipe is a perfect example that eating healthy shouldn’t equate to bland or boring food.

Enjoy the fusion between the juicy steak, creamy avocados, crunchy cucumbers, sweet tomatoes, and tangy balsamic vinaigrette.

A bowl filled with vibrant flavors and texture variations!

Of course, like all salads, this lunch idea is pretty easy to make, too! It takes less than 30 minutes to prep, cook, and pack, making it a perfect make-ahead lunch for work.

2. Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches

When the words steak and lunch are mentioned in the same sentence, I always think about Philly cheesesteak sandwiches!

This recipe is easily one of my favorite on-the-go sandwiches.

It’s so cheesy, very filling, and it only takes half an hour to make!

Not to mention, this dish tastes perfect whether you use freshly cooked steak or leftovers from last night.

I love pairing my cheesesteak sandwiches with hot fries and ice-cold soda. This combination tastes way better than the ones you can grab at fast food!

3. Cilantro Lime Steak Bowls

As a rice enthusiast, of course, I gotta mention at least one rice dish in this list, and that’s none other than my go-to cilantro lime steak bowls.

Anytime I want a filling meal that reminds me of home, this is the steak dish that I prepare for lunch.

This Mexican-inspired meal might look complicated at first glance, but it really only needs 35 minutes to cook!

Just marinate the steak, cook it on the grill to your desired doneness level, and assemble the bowl with seasoning and veggies!

4. Steak Burritos

Prefer no-fuss lunches that you can easily carry and eat on the go?

Then, you’re bound to love steak burritos!

They’re well-balanced, full of flavor, and highly customizable.

Not to mention, you can meal prep them ahead of time, allowing you to prepare several lunches for the week in just one go.

Oh, and if you’re wondering—yes, the recipe I often use includes rice (flavored)!

If you’re not a fan of using rice in burritos, though, no worries—you can always leave it out or opt for substitutions, if preferred.

5. Steak & Pasta Salad

If you love meals that combine various textures, flavors, and colors in every bite, I highly recommend adding steak & pasta salad to your weekly lunch rotation.

It features tender steak, blue cheese, candied nuts, pasta, and veggies that all work together to create a delicious meal!

Preparing it is incredibly easy, too, especially if you’re using leftover steak.

Just boil some pasta, make the dressing, slice the steak, and prepare the veggies with the toppings.

In as fast as 25 minutes, you’ll be able to enjoy your vibrant steak & pasta salad that tastes as amazing as it looks!

Beef satay is one of the most unique steak dishes you can prepare for lunch.

It combines a savory Thai peanut sauce (yup, that’s a thing) with juicy flank steak slices, resulting in a very flavorful and satisfying dish!

Now, I know you’re probably like: “WDYM eating steak with peanut butter?!”

But trust me; this combination doesn’t just “work,” it excels in this recipe.

You gotta taste it for yourself to truly understand what I mean, though!

7. Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes

Let’s end this list with a very classic steakhouse meal: garlic butter steak and potatoes.

We often enjoy this dish for dinner.

But since I realized that there’s no rule that says you can only enjoy steak and potatoes at night, we’ve been having it for lunch more frequently!

Normalize Having Steak Midday!

I’m a firm believer that steaks shouldn’t be just for dinners and special occasions.

Because the truth is—they’re too delicious to be only enjoyed sparingly.

So, using the list above as inspiration, feel free to enjoy steak as often as you relish other meats, such as chicken and pork!

Trust me, steaks are amazing additions to sandwiches, salads, burritos, tacos, rice bowls, and pretty much lots of other dishes!
