Here’s a quick rundown of what you need to do to make this delicious dish at home, starting with the prep work: pound your chicken breasts until they have an even thickness, then season them.

After that, warm up your skillet and add a drizzle of olive oil. Carefully place your chicken breasts inside. Sear for about 5 minutes, before flipping them over to do the same on the other side.

Once they’re cooked through, transfer them to a separate plate to rest.

Using the same skillet, add a splash of wine to deglaze your pan. Then, add your butter and garlic to make the sauce. Cook them for about a minute.

You’ll know it’s ready when the butter melts completely and your kitchen is filled with that amazing garlic aroma.

At that point, bring your chicken back to the pan and toss it in the garlic butter sauce. Garnish with a sprinkle of parsley, and you’re all set.

4 Smart Hacks To Elevate Your Cooking!

As you can see, the process is pretty straightforward, but I’ve got some pro hacks to make your dish even better.

TIP #1: Don’t cook your chicken breasts straight from the fridge. Make sure to leave them at room temp for about an hour before pounding them and placing them in the skillet.

TIP #2: I like to use Kirkland Signature Organic No-Salt for this recipe because it already has a pretty good spice blend. But, if you can’t get your hands on this, you can make your own.

Simply mix equal amounts of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, rosemary, thyme, basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

TIP #3: When you sear your chicken breasts, don’t touch or stir them in any way. Just leave them undisturbed.

TIP #4: If you don’t have wine to deglaze your skillet after searing, you can use chicken broth or water instead. Either will work to remove the bits stuck at the bottom of the pan.

A quick side note: when deglazing, be extra careful! Pouring your liquid will cause it to bubble and produce a lot of steam.

Yield: 4 servings
Prep Time: 3 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes

All you need is one skillet and 15 minutes to make deliciously tender and flavorful garlic butter chicken! Save this recipe for when you’re in a rush or just want something easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons of Kirkland Signature Organic No-Salt (or a homemade spice blend)
  • ½ cup of white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter (roughly half a stick of butter)
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic (finely minced)
  • Kosher salt and ground pepper (to taste)
  • A handful of chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Once your chicken breasts are at room temperature, grab a meat mallet and pound your them until they have an even thickness.
  2. Then, season both sides of your chicken with your seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Get a large skillet and add a drizzle of olive oil. Place your pounded chicken breasts inside and let them cook for 5 minutes undisturbed.
  4. After 5 minutes, flip your chicken breasts around and do the same to the other side.
  5. When they're done cooking, transfer them to a separate plate to cool down a bit.
  6. In the meantime, grab the same skillet and deglaze it using white wine or chicken broth. Be careful not to burn yourself during this process. Note: If you’re not sure which white wine to use, I suggest Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, or Sauvignon Blanc. A dry rosé is a good choice, too!
  7. Once the bubbling has mellowed down, add your butter and stir it continuously until it melts. This should take about a minute.
  8. After that, add your minced garlic and cook it until fragrant. This should take another minute or so.
  9. Now, turn your stove off and add your chicken back to the skillet. Using a wooden spoon, toss it around to fully coat in the garlic butter sauce.
  10. Garnish with some chopped parsley, and you’re done!
