Cream of chicken is a pantry staple in my kitchen. It’s always there in case I want to make something quick and comforting, like a creamy casserole or a hearty soup.
It’s a versatile ingredient that’s perfect for adding rich, savory flavors to a dish without all the fuss. Check out my favorite recipes below.
1. Chicken and Dumplings

As someone who grew up eating a lot of soup, I’ve had my fair share of classic favorites and unique homemade concoctions, and this is one of the more creative ones I’ve tried so far.
I didn’t grow up eating chicken and dumplings, but I’ve heard a lot about it. Some say that it’s a cousin of chicken pot pie, which I’m obsessed with. So, I don’t know why I’ve never made this sooner.
This recipe is a classic Southern stew that combines cooked chicken, chopped veggies, and creamy broth. Then, it’s topped with a tasty biscuit that you won’t be able to get enough of.

2. One Pot Creamy Chicken and Noodles

One-pot meals have become my personality in the kitchen lately. It’s something that I always keep on rotation because I just love the easy prep and clean-up.
Among the dishes I’ve made, this One Pot Creamy Chicken and Noodles is a family favorite because the flavor is incredibly light, yet decadent.
To make this, you’ll only need a few essentials, such as chicken breast, onions, carrots, celery, cream of mushroom soup, milk, fettuccine noodles, cheese, and some herbs & spices.
Depending on your preference, you can swap out some of the ingredients to fit your taste. So, feel free to change the veggies, pasta, and cheese to whatever you like!

3. Chicken Divan

Chicken divan is a casserole dish that’s usually served with broccoli and Mornay sauce. When I first learned about this recipe, I was instantly intrigued by it.
So, I did a little bit of research and found out that it was named after the place where it was invented — the Divan Parisien Restaurant at Chatham Hotel in New York City.
Apparently, it was the hotel’s signature dish during the early 20th century, and the chef who came up with the recipe even won an award for it! Naturally, I had to find out what made this dish so popular, so I decided to give it a go in my kitchen.”

4. Swiss Chicken Bake

Here’s another incredible chicken casserole dish you should try. It only has 6 ingredients and takes only 15 minutes to prepare. To me, it tastes like the best hug in a baking dish — cozy, warm, and full of flavor.
To make this, you’ll need boneless chicken breasts, swiss cheese, cream of chicken soup, milk, herb stuffing, and butter. Toss all the ingredients in a 9×13-inch Pyrex, and bake.
If you want to take it a step further, you can add other types of cheese, like mozzarella and provolone to make this recipe extra gooey.

5. Chicken Pot Pie

There’s something so satisfying about a tasty chicken pot pie, especially when you have your trusted cream of chicken by your side.
To me, this dish is the ultimate comfort food. It combines hearty flavorful ingredients with flaky crusts and a creamy, savory filling.
What I love about this is that this recipe is pretty straightforward, and you don’t need to make anything from scratch.
The crust? You can buy it pre-made. The chicken? You can use leftovers or get rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. All you have to do is put them all together, and you’ve got a delicious dish!
