7 Brisket Recipes To Give Your Leftovers a Second Life

Do you have any brisket leftovers? Lucky you—you just hit the jackpot!

Just think about it: you won’t have to worry about what to eat the next day. Plus, it’s the perfect opportunity to recreate some recipes you’ve been wanting to try for ages.

I have a bunch of saved recipes, and having leftovers is the best excuse to finally give them a try. Here are a couple of my favorites!

1. BBQ Brisket Pizza

Pizza and brisket? Say less!

I usually get a regular ol’ pepperoni pizza because you can’t go wrong with that. But every once in a while, I like to step outside my comfort zone and try something more adventurous, like this recipe.

It’s got the flavors of smoky barbecue on top of chewy dough. If I have the time, I’ll make my dough from scratch. Otherwise, I grab ready-made dough from the store.

Overall, it only takes 30 minutes to make, and once the timer’s up, you’ve got a dish that everyone will love. I doubt anyone will realize that the main ingredient is a simple leftover.

2. Smoked Brisket Chili

On days when I’m too lazy to cook up a feast, I like to make this smoked brisket chili recipe. Everything goes into one pot and there’s minimal clean-up afterward.

This dish is an instant crowd favorite, and here’s why: The fall-apart brisket paired with the spicy tomato-based sauce is so satisfying that you can’t help but finish a whole bowl.

So, if you were to ask me about my favorite comfort food, this would likely be at the top of the list. Not only does it offer a lot of complex flavors, but it also takes only 45 minutes to make!

3. Brisket Jalapeño Poppers

You’re probably familiar with the classic jalapeño poppers, featuring just the pepper, cheese, and bacon. But have you ever tried brisket jalapeño poppers?

Well, buckle up, because this recipe takes the classic dish to a whole other level, perfect for an appetizer or a savory afternoon snack.

You only need 9 ingredients, namely jalapeños, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic, leftover smoked brisket, bacon, BBQ sauce, cilantro, and salt.

Once you have everything you need, it’s time to assemble your poppers!

4. Ramen With Leftover Smoked Brisket

I can never say no to a steaming bowl of noodles, especially when it’s topped with leftover brisket.

While I typically enjoy ramen with chashu, which is Japanese braised pork belly, I was intrigued by this recipe and decided to give it a try.

After making it a few times, I can confidently say that this ramen with leftover brisket is the perfect warm treat for a gloomy day or a chilly night. So, if you need something cozy to perk you up, this one’s for you!

5. Brisket Enchiladas

If you’re planning a Mexican-themed potluck anytime soon, this dish makes a fantastic addition to the menu.

It’s quick, easy, and only takes five ingredients: your leftover brisket, cheese, BBQ sauce, sour cream, and corn tortillas. You can also add some green onions for garnish, but that’s completely optional.

Once you have these ingredients, making this recipe will be a walk in the park.

6. Brisket Grilled Cheese

Got some bread lying around? How about some cheese? If your answer is “yes” to both questions, you’re ready to make some grilled cheese, perfect for your leftover brisket.

I love making this dish at home because there’s very minimal prep work and cooking involved.

Come to think of it, I can summarize this recipe into three steps: (1) season my brisket, (2) melt the cheese, and (3) sandwich it with two slices of bread. It doesn’t get simpler than that.

7. Chopped Brisket Nachos

Far from the original nachos recipe, which consisted only of tortilla chips, cheese, and pickled jalapeños, this recipe has it all!

To name a few ingredients, there’s guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, scallions, radishes, olives, and sour cream — plus, we can’t forget about the leftover brisket.

The toppings are fully customizable, and best of all, it takes less than 20 minutes to prepare. So, if you have guests coming over, you can easily turn it into a nacho party!

No More Boring Brisket Leftovers for You

Leftovers often get a bad rap for being boring, but I think it’s all a matter of perspective. You can either see them as something to simply reheat the next day or as an opportunity to play around with.

I treat it as a blank canvas. And with these recipes, you’ll say goodbye to boring leftovers and hello to fun, creative meal ideas!
