7 Mouthwatering Ground Chicken Recipes You Must Try

Published on:
Crispy Chicken Burgers

Among all ground meats, ground chicken often gets the least recognition.

But trust me, ground chicken is neither too bland nor boring. You just need to find the right recipes to make this protein shine. So, here are 7 ground chicken recipes to get you started!

1. Crispy Chicken Burgers

I love treating myself to deep-fried, golden chicken burgers.

But if they’re not crispy or too dry?

No, thank you.

Luckily, I’ve found a “homemade fast food” chicken burger recipe that’s not just incredibly delicious, but also has a unique crispy texture.

To prepare this recipe, just coat boneless chicken thighs with yogurt, spices, and crushed tortilla chips. Then, assemble the burgers with fresh lettuce, onion, and melted American cheese.

Not too greasy. Slightly healthy. Incredibly popular among kids and the entire family!

2. Chicken Meatballs

Ground meat, whether it’s beef, pork, or chicken, always reminds me of meatballs.

So, guess what—I’ll share not just one but two meatball recipes!

To start, there’s the classic baked chicken meatballs seasoned with parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Just bake for half an hour and enjoy these tender meatballs on their own with a dipping sauce, or serve them over pasta or a fresh salad.

If you prefer meatballs that pack a spicy kick, I recommend buffalo chicken meatballs

These are perfectly seasoned and topped with a spicy hot sauce and tangy blue cheese dressing.

I love serving these as finger food, especially during game-day gatherings.

3. Garlic Ginger Chicken Potstickers

Love store-bought potstickers or dumplings?

Good news: you’ll love these garlic ginger chicken potstickers even more!

They’re not only healthier but also way cheaper than the ones you can buy in-store.

And yup—these potstickers freeze extremely well, too, so you can prep them in advance to have a quick snack or meal readily available within 15 minutes.

The only tricky part of following this recipe is assembling the dumplings. But trust me, you’ll get the hang of it right by the 5th one, so don’t worry if you mess up the first few.

4. Chicken Bolognese

Chicken bolognese is an inexpensive dish that can easily be presented like an expensive meal.

If you like anything pasta, you’ll surely enjoy cooking and eating this dish.

So, try it once, and I guarantee you’ll be making it again not too long after.

It takes a total of an hour to cook chicken bolognese, but for the majority of that time, you’ll just be simmering the sauce, stirring it from time to time.

This sauce goes with pretty much any pasta, so I love doubling the recipe and freezing the leftovers to enjoy freshly cooked pasta at home whenever I feel like it.

5. Chicken Tacos

I’m a huge fan of classic beef tacos, but when I want to eat a healthier alternative, I make these ground chicken tacos instead.

They taste just as good but are leaner. Plus, ground chicken is generally cheaper, so I could make even more servings for the same price!

I love this specific recipe because it takes just half an hour to make (you’ll be using the oven and stove simultaneously).

Less time in the kitchen. More time enjoying with your friends and family.

6. Copycat Chicken Fries Recipe

Ever tried Burger King’s chicken fries?

Well, this recipe tastes just as good for a fraction of the price.

Not to mention, it’s healthier, as we’ll be air frying these instead of deep frying.

Now, it might be a bit hard to imagine ground chicken turning into fries, so here’s a brief rundown of how this works: flatten the ground chicken on a tray, freeze it for at least an hour, then slice the chicken into wide strips.

Once you’ve turned the chicken into “fries,” freeze the tray again until they’re frozen solid, then coat each frozen chicken strip with the prepared batter.

Air fry the raw chicken fries for about 7 minutes on each side, and you’re done@

This recipe is also freezer-friendly. So to make the process of freezing and breading all worth it, I make about 100 fries and freeze them in bags of 20.

Nope, this recipe isn’t just about slapping seasoned ground chicken and parmesan cheese on top of regular pizza dough.

Instead, it integrates the ground chicken directly into the dough, ensuring that every bite is meaty, delicious, and satisfying!

This dish isn’t the easiest to make, but it’s incredibly rewarding to cook.

No More Boring Ground Chicken Recipes

It’s such a bummer that ground chicken is often underrated.

After all, it’s often cheaper and healthier than traditional ground red meat.

Hopefully, the recipes above can serve as your gateway to incorporating ground chicken more often into your regular meals.

Once you discover the true potential of this ingredient, there’s really no going back!
